I am thrilled to announce that in 2025 I will be a licensed facilitator with the Paterson Center, offering their signature processes: StratOp and LifePlan. This step is both an exciting milestone in my journey and an opportunity to bring transformative clarity, strategy, and action to individuals, churches, and organizations.
Who Was Tom Paterson?
At the heart of this work is the legacy of Tom Paterson, a master strategic thinker whose life exemplified innovation and service. Tom’s career included incredible achievements like holding the first patent for ATM PIN technology, contributing to the design of Disney’s Space Mountain, and advising the Reagan Administration on opening the Chinese economy. These accomplishments stemmed from his ability to think in systems and processes that led to breakthroughs in technology, leadership, and strategy.
But for Tom, his greatest contributions weren’t in technological innovations—they were in helping people and teams discover their unique identity and purpose. He believed every individual and organization holds untapped potential, waiting to be uncovered and aligned for meaningful impact.
The Paterson Process
Tom’s faith was central to his life, and he approached his work as a way to serve others. His vision gave birth to the Paterson Processes—StratOp for organizations and LifePlan for individuals. These tools help leaders and teams clarify where they are, where they’re headed, and how to get there.
StratOp, short for “Strategic Operations,” is more than a traditional strategic plan; it’s a system that integrates vision, operations, and financial realities into a cohesive framework. Rooted in the principle that “perspective before planning” leads to lasting breakthroughs, StratOp equips teams to identify core issues, focus on “What’s Important Now,” and build strategies that drive measurable results.
